Thursday. The week ends with a bang!

Artie and Gary go to war (first 40 minutes of the show)

Howard brought up Artie’s “clean urine” story from yesterday and commented that everyone thinks that story was bullshit and made up.

Artie came out firing immediately and starts calling people names, specifically calling Vanessa Grigoriadis a “cunt reporter” twice and Gary a “fucking ass wipe”.  He followed up with a comment to Gary, “She (Vanessa) is a dumb idiot and so are you”.

Artie was upset that people are so concerned about him lying and thinking that he is a liar, especially Gary. Gary had previously asked Artie to be brutally honest with him.

Artie: “I’m sick of being a punching bag with you people about this lying shit.”

Artie: “You always get the truth out of me [pause] eventually.”

Then Artie started going into the salary topic again saying that he should be making more money than Gary.

Gary: “I knew this day would come when Artie will turn on everyone here.”

Will then came in to explain/defend the idea that it is not too far fetched to say that Artie lies and Artie started going off on him. Will then called Artie miserable fuck but also kept adding in that he loves him.

In trying to settle the room, Howard chimed in trying to explain what was being said and then Artie started getting flamed with Howard.

Gary: “You are literally dead to me when it comes to the wrap-up show. I like most of the audience is done with this topic.”

Howard asked Gary why he was so worked up. Gary responded that this was the real Artie and that he was so done and didn’t trust him anymore.

Artie then came back and said that he was trying to piss Gary off this morning because he was mad at Gary. He was mad because Gary was casually calling him a liar on the wrap-up show and that that is not a true statement.

Artie: “What Gary thinks of me, means a lot to me.”

Artie: “That’s life, you lie about shit.”

About 30 minutes into the assault things began to calm down. Gary entered the studio (previously he was just on the intercom). Howard asked why he was in there now and Gary said that he felt that Artie wouldn’t throw anything at him at this  point.

Howard asked Gary if Artie was still dead to him and Gary answered that there was a heartbeat.

Gary then began talking about Afghanistan and what happened at the end of the trip when Artie got all drunk and took lots of Valium. Artie had gotten mad at Gary for videotaping him for a minute while he was out of it. Artie later came out and in front of everyone called Gary a bunch of really bad names. The next morning, Artie casually apologized to Gary. Gary felt it was really important to mention this story because that incident made him really question whether Artie even wanted Gary on the trip even though they had such a great experience together.

Wrap Up Show

- Artie was on the wrap up show doing his usual stick. Artie said to Gary, “I think we have made up and all”… Gary shot back asking if they really made up as if he didn’t realize it.

- Artie called Gary’s “your dead to me comment” a show business move.

- Jon Hein pointed out the underlying animosity going on between Gary and Artie. Gary verified that. Artie said he doesn’t know where it comes from.

- Gary said he doesn’t like how Artie has treated the show in past. Lying, Late, Sleeping, etc… Artie said Gary should be upset with Howard because Howard approves of Artie’s behavior. Artie said if Howard pulled him aside and asked him to be on time and stuff then he would change.

- Artie said that he likes Will.

- Artie admitted he doesn’t want to go to rehab because he fears he could lose his job somehow.  Whether it is because of a funnier person sitting in his chair or something else.

- Artie says that he hates the “wrap” of being addicted is a “disease”.

- Artie said the word “Cunt” another 10 times.

- Sparks begin to fly later on in the wrap up show again.

- Jon Hein asked Artie, “What would make you happy.” Artie said he doesn’t know.

- Benjy said that he thought something was going on in Artie’s life because he has been acting differently. Artie said something in his personal life has happened and he couldn’t talk about it because it affects other people.

- The money topic came back up and Artie said that Gary makes 50K a year more than him.

In other news

- Steve Langford reported that Crumbs Bakery will be donating money once again from the Artie Lange cupcake.  Since the whole LifeBeat charity debacle, Crumbs hasn’t been contributing in Artie’s name. Now $1 for each Artie Lange Cupcake sold will go to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital. Additionally, the donation will be retroactive for all the cupcakes sold. $6,000 will be donated soon and Artie will be making an appearance soon at a Crumbs location in New Jersey.
