A caller wondered if Artie heard from Dana after his recent blow-up, and Artie confirmed that she did call him, adding that they played phone tag “for a while” afterward. While they were discussing Artie’s recent personal defeats, Howard mentioned that Artie went out to lunch with Gary yesterday to City Lobster and had to change tables because he couldn’t fit into the booth they were first seated at. Artie claimed that neither Benjy or Jon Hein would fit into the small booth either – all he could fit in was half a hip. Artie said he had a second disappointment yesterday that showed him how much he needed Teddy: he accidentally took a too-long nap and missed a call from Letterman’s producers, who needed a fill-in guest. Artie noted that Teddy knows his doorman, and would’ve had the guy wake him, but his agent doesn’t have the same connection. Howard joked that Artie’s also softening elsewhere – he recently cradled his hairstylist’s baby to keep it from crying.
More About The Site
Just a huge fan of the Stern Show that feels Artie deserves more of a tribute (before he explodes). Artie adds a very unique comedy to the show that I can relate to more than any of the other crew. He is real and true to his fans and always appreciates those who gave him his start in show business. He is just a great guy that is generous, appreciative and hilarious.
